Entering the second half of the season, Hamilton is sitting in second place, 50 points behind Kimi Antonelli in the drivers' standings.

Hamilton is no stranger to returning from the summer break being on the back foot in the standings but still securing the F1 title at the end of the year. He did so both in 2014 and 2017 as well, against two German drivers, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel.

On social media, the seven-time world champion also gave an insight into how he is getting ready for the second half of the Formula 1 season.

Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies praised his team after Verstappen finished second at the Hungaroring, explaining that a lot of effort had gone into helping the Austrian outfit close the gap to the front.

"I have to say, everyone, PU side, chassis side, some lap time progressions have been brought through updates, some other lap time progressions have been brought through a lot of people in the background, our 2000 people have been working to bring a little bit more to every single area," he told GPblog, among others.

However, Red Bull is not satisfied until Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar can win Grands Prix with the RB22 on merit. The Frenchman concluded: "Don't count on me to say that we are satisfied because we are not, because we will not be satisfied until we go back to have a race car that has a pace to win on merit."
