Red Bull shares clear message: 'We are not satisfied until we can fight for wins'

The Milton Keynes-based outfit remains the only frontrunner team yet to win a Grand Prix in the 2026 Formula 1 season after Lando Norris and McLaren triumphed at the Hungaroring before the summer break.

There, Max Verstappen finished in second place but crossed the finish line 15 seconds behind the defending world champion.

Speaking to GPblog among others, the Frenchman explained: "We don't sign for anything other than winning races. But I have to take that opportunity again to say well done to our people because chassis side, PU side, because turning around, starting from 1.2 seconds [behind], finishing three tenths at the halfway part of the season with this level of competition.

Mekies also praised his team. "I have to say, everyone, PU side, chassis side, some lap time progressions have been brought through updates, some other lap time progressions have been brought through a lot of people in the background, our 2000 people have been working to bring a little bit more to every single area.

He concluded: "You know, don't count on me to say that we are satisfied because we are not, because we will not be satisfied until we go back to have a race car that has a pace to win on merit."
