Lewis Hamilton seems to have a chance to get back into the Mercedes this weekend. The seven-time world champion is in all likelihood currently in Bahrain, but could possibly arrive in Abu Dhabi tomorrow.

Hamilton back in his Mercedes?

According to the latest rumours from Auto, Motor und Sport, Hamilton has been tested negative for the coronavirus. However, the Brit is still in Bahrain and cannot fly to Abu Dhabi until tomorrow. When he arrives there, he must take another coronavirus test and spend at least one day in quarantine.
If these rumours come true, it means that Hamilton will be able to get back into his Mercedes W11 on Saturday. In that case, Russell will be driving the black car on Friday during the first two free practice sessions. He will then return to Williams on Saturday.

No false hopes

In order not to give out false hopes, Mercedes tries to spread as little information as possible. Also, if Hamilton tests positive, it doesn't mean he will be able to drive a Formula 1 car on Saturday. It might be possible that he's not feeling fit enough.
