Wolff about Perez: "Red Bull will become an even bigger rival"

Sergio Perez is coming to Red Bull Racing, and Alexander Albon will be the reserve driver. A choice that the team had to make because the differences between Albon and Max Verstappen were simply too great.

With the experienced Perez they hope to bring in a strong, reliable teammate for Verstappen. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff also sees a strong opponent in Perez.

“Red Bull is getting a fast driver with a lot of experience. I see Perez as a reinforcement for them. They will become an even bigger rival," Wolff told Auto, Moto und Sport.

With the new aerodynamic changes to the cars in 2021, it remains to be seen how the team will perform. With improvements to the car and Perez in the second Red Bull, they hope to close the next year's move to Mercedes.
