The Hungarian Grand Prix is typically a race where overtaking is challenging. However, Peter Windsor saw Max Verstappen execute numerous overtake maneuvers, even without DRS.
Max Verstappen started the Hungarian Grand Prix from the eighth spot after experiencing understeer in the qualification. From the midfield, the Dutchman managed to overtake some cars at the beginning of the race.

Windsor praises Verstappen's overtaking in Hungary

Peter Windsor found it remarkable that Verstappen executed all his overtakes outside the DRS zones: ''There is a guy called Max Verstappen who I think passed four cars today in the Hungarian Grand Prix and not one of them was in the DRS zone,'' the Australian revealed on his YouTube channel.
After a few laps, the Red Bull Racing driver lost some speed due to significant tire wear. Afterward, overtaking on the Hungaroring became much more challenging, and Verstappen got stuck.
''They were all into Turn 6. Wow. And then the tyres went off, got to say. So it was a terrible day for Max. But the first four or five laps with Max, they went off in about lap five, I think he lost the front end. But until then, he was passing everyone into turn six.''
Windsor also brought up the moment when Verstappen had to report to the stewards. The Dutchman supposedly shoved Lewis Hamilton off the track during an overtake. The four-time world champion received no penalty for this in the end.
''He got Lewis into turn four. That kink, the left-hander, where they just go down to sixth gear just as they turn in. I don't think Lewis really expected Max to be down the inside of him and sort of jink the steering and ran wide. And Max was straight through. So it’s another pass he did without DRS. So yeah, blame DRS a little bit.''
