Max Verstappen treads on thin ice after accruing 3 penalty points on his license at the Spanish Grand Prix, should he get one more in Canada or Austria he'll receive a race ban, something Red Bull is already prepared for.
According to
De Telegraaf,
Red Bull Racing will pick one of its sister team's drivers, be that rookie sensation
Isack Hadjar, or the demoted
Liam Lawson, with the open
Racing Bulls seat being taken over by Ayumu Iwasa.
Arvid Lindblad won't make F1 debut yet
Despite having won two races already in his maiden F2 season and sitting in third place in the standings,
prompting Red Bull to ask the FIA to provide the British talent for a dispensation to disregard Linblad's underage status (he's currently 17 years old), it appears as though he's not currently being considered for a step up to F1 this season.
Arvid Lindblad won the F2-feature race in Barcelona.
For Verstappen then, it's all about playing it safe this weekend at the
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, as he's still within reach of championship leader Oscar Piastri 49 points off the Australian.
However, a race ban could ultimately derail his 2025 championship hopes, making the upcoming two races of incredible importance to his championship bid. His first penalty points will have expired by the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone.
