The Austrian Grand Prix weekend began with a hailstorm on the Thursday. However, for now, not much rain at all is expected to influence the weekend. On Friday, unlike in the previous three seasons, the
Austrian Grand Prix is not a Sprint weekend, therefore, two free practice sessions will be held.
After on Thursday the FIA even allowed teams to close their garage doors because of the weather and in the region it is usual this happens suddenly over the summer, for FP1, there is a 0% chance of rain predicted.
It will be 26-27 degrees Celsius in the first session of the day, and it will be partially cloudy.
For the second session of the day, it will be marginally colder in the Styria region of Austria. By the end of these 60 minutes of on-track action, it will be 25 degrees Celsius, and it remains cloudy, but the chance of rain has increased to up to 20%.
In these aforementioned two sessions, drivers have to deal with strong wind gusts, that could reach up to 20-30 kph.
Dry Saturday and Sunday predicted
On Saturday, the first session of the day will be FP3, when it will be 26 degrees Celsius. By the time qualifying begins at 16:00 local time, that will be up to 28 degrees .
For both sessions, there is a 0% chance of rain predicted. Similarly to the previous day, wind gusts can cause headaches for the drivers, as those could reach up to 20-30 kph once again.
Not only on Saturday, on Sunday, it will be also cloudy again, but once again there is a 0% of rain predicted at the moment.
The Grand Prix will be the session with the highest temperature, as 30 degrees Celsius is predicted for the start. Wind gusts will be less extreme, in between 15 and 25 kph on the final day of the weekend.
