One of the biggest races on the
Formula 1 calendar is fast approaching with the
British Grand Prix set to take centre stage this weekend. Last time out it was searing conditions at the Red Bull Ring but what can we expect ahead of the race at
Silverstone?
Last year,
Sebastian Vettel qualified second but after
Lewis Hamilton had a poor start and he overtook
Valtteri Bottas on lap 47, the German ended Hamilton's winning streak at the circuit. The home favourite finished the race in second with
Kimi Raikkonen in third. Vettel became the first Ferrari driver since Fernando Alonso in 2011 to win at Silverstone.
Further down the field Esteban Ocon and
Sergio Perez both secured points for the then Force India team, but it was less memorable for Sauber as they suffered a double retirement.
Max Verstappen was one of six retirees but was placed 15th after completing enough of the race.
What can we expect from the weather?
When it is lights out on Sunday we can expect temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius with humidity of 62%. There is set to be a gentle breeze from the northeast but we don't think the raincoats will be necessary with only a 1% chance of rain.
