Max Verstappen has played down the comments his team principal,
Christian Horner made about him and
Lewis Hamilton. Horner said that Max would beat the Brit if given the same resources.
Verstappen has been highly praised this season for getting the most out of his Honda
Red Bull and outperforming his teammate,
Pierre Gasly. He won the last Grand Prix in Austria with a stunning drive, recovering from a terrible first lap which saw him drop from second to seventh.
Horner said at this week's press conference that Verstappen was "the best driver in the world" but the Dutchman himself played down these comments but was happy to accept the compliment.
"It's nice when your boss says that," Verstappen said as quoted by
Speedweek.
"But I myself do not think about it. There are not only Lewis out there, we have some outstanding riders in the field.
"And they can be dangerous to Lewis Hamilton." Follow GPblog now on Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook!
