Mercedes' winning streak came to an end in Austria but Lewis Hamilton is confident there won't be a repeat of the circumstances at Silverstone this weekend. The Mercedes pair finished P3 and P5, the first time they've failed to win a race this season.
Both drivers struggled with overheating at the Austrian Grand Prix, and both drivers were picked off as they prevented any damage from overheating. Hamilton's fifth place finish was his lowest this season but the Mercedes man is optimistic the team can avoid any problems this time around in the British summer sun.
"I do not think it will be repeated," Hamilton told the press ahead of the British Grand Prix weekend.
"There are certain negative things in Austria."
The five-time winner of the British Grand Prix admitted their rivals have made progress but is adamant things would have been different had the Silver Arrows not suffered from the problems they did.

"We know that Ferrari and Red Bull have taken a step forward. They had a great rhythm.
"If we had not had the problems we had, we would have been closer. Red Bull with a new engine will be faster and Ferrari won last year," added Hamilton.
