FP1 in United States kicks off with red flag

The first free practice session for the United States Grand Prix was halted after just a few minutes. Fernando Alonso was just starting his outlap when his Alpine stopped with technical problems.

As a result of the problems Alonso had to park his car immediately. There was a visible leak from his car, so there is little chance that we will see the Spaniard back in the first practice session.

While Alonso's Alpine is being removed and any oil cleaned up, there is a red flag situation. Due to the incident the drivers lose more than ten minutes of their practice time.
