Sebastian Vettel, who recently saw his record of most consecutive Formula 1 wins broken by Max Verstappen, disagrees with the criticism levelled at the Dutchman's dominance. Vettel believes F1 viewers should instead consider themselves lucky to witness his achievements.
The subject was raised at the launch of his biodiversity project 'Buzzin' Corner,' which is dedicated to bees. On the criticism of Verstappen, Vettel can be brief: "I think people don't like watching the same driver win," he is quoted by Autosport.com.

Vettel: 'You should be lucky to be able to witness this'

The four-time world champion stressed that dominant periods are simply part of the sport. Instead of criticising it, Vettel says people should appreciate what happens a bit more. "You should be lucky that you're able to witness history in the making. And what Max pulled off this year is amazing," the former Red Bull Racing driver continued.
That the RB19 is a strong race car should be obvious. However, Vettel has all the more respect for the performance of Verstappen, whom he has "not seen make a mistake" this season. For that, the reigning world champion deserves full credit, according to the 36-year-old German.

Vettel received wide support for his biodiversity project. All F1 drivers were present at the launch, during which the kerbs of turn two were painted yellow and black. His old team boss Christian Horner was also in attendance.
