Max Verstappen has allegedly lowered his own benchmark at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with reports suggesting the Dutchman clocked a 7:45 lap – three seconds faster than his previous best in a GT3 car. The Red Bull driver had already impressed earlier this year when he unofficially broke the GT3 lap record at the ‘Green Hell’, posting a 7:48.
Back in Germany this weekend for his GT3 debut in the ADAC Barbarossa Prize, Verstappen is once again making headlines.
According to YouTube channel MegaPeter96, the reigning
F1 champion found even more pace in the Ferrari 296 GT3 during Friday’s test runs.
Verstappen shared the car with Chris Lulham, completing laps on Friday to get a feel for the machine before Saturday’s qualifying and four-hour race.
Fans can follow Verstappen’s Nürburgring adventure through GPblog’s coverage, with the qualifying and race both streamed live and constant updates available in our liveblog throughout Saturday.
