Max Verstappen and Chris Lulham won today’s NLS race at the Nordschleife, also setting a new record. Qualifying in third place, Verstappen immediately took the lead heading into Turn 1 at today's four-hour race at the Nordschleife.
After building a comfortable lead over his rivals during the first two hours, the four-time
Formula 1 world champion handed the car over to Lulham at the halfway point.
The Briton then secured the victory with the #31 Ferrari 296 GT3 at the 'Green Hell.'With this victory, Verstappen and Lulham became the first drivers to win on their debut since 1977, excluding the very first race of the series, when all drivers were making their debut.

Verstappen satisfied with the victory
Talking after the race, the Dutchman was satisfied. “It was great! During my first two stints, the car was amazing."
"After qualifying, I knew the car would be good on a dry track. Everything went well in terms of traffic, and we didn’t make any big mistakes. To win my debut race here is amazing," he shared his verdict.
He continued: "Of course, we really want to race the 24-hour race, here at the Nordschleife. If that’s going to be next year, I don’t know yet. Of course we need more experience, so hopefully we can enter a few more NLS races next year.”
On the podium, Verstappen struggled to open his champagne as he celebrated his GT3 debut victory at the famous German track.
