Verstappen outbrakes Hamilton in spectacular Turn 1 move

Ferrari rolled the dice by bringing Hamilton in on lap 14 in an attempt to undercut Verstappen. Although the seven-time world champion lost precious seconds after emerging behind Lawson, the strategy still paid off, with Hamilton cycling ahead of the Red Bull once the pit stop phase unfolded.

The position, however, was short-lived. On the very next lap Verstappen dispatched Lawson with ease before launching a sensational move on Hamilton, diving down the inside into Turn 1 under braking to snatch back third place and leave the Ferrari driver with no chance to respond.

Despite pulling off the overtake, Verstappen was not entirely satisfied and immediately voiced his concerns over the radio. The Dutchman felt Hamilton moved under braking, saying: "I don't want to complain, but that was moving under braking. I mean, it was a nice action, but it is not right."
