Max Verstappen could further etch his name into the Formula 1 record books with the Qatar Grand Prix next on the calendar. The
Red Bull Racing driver could match a certain
Ayrton Senna’s record come the chequered flag at the Lusail International Circuit.
Currently locked in a three-way title battle with
Lando Norris and
Oscar Piastri, Verstappen has the opportunity to equal Senna as the second driver in
F1 history to win a Grand Prix after leading every lap.
Should he achieve the feat in Qatar, it would mark the 19th time the four-time world champion has led a race from start to finish, drawing level with Senna and moving just four races behind the all-time record of 23 held by
Lewis Hamilton.

The Dutch driver recently moved to 18 after his dominant outing at the Las Vegas race, where he led every lap from lights to the chequered flag.
The Lusail circuit has proven to be a good hunting ground for Verstappen, and he has clinched victory, while leading every lap, in two of the three races held so far in Qatar.
Verstappen still favourite for F1 title?
1997 F1 champion
Jacques Villeneuve believes Verstappen remains the firm favourite to win the 2025 drivers’ title, particularly off the back of the disqualification the McLaren team suffered in Las Vegas.
The Canadian, in a recent interview, stated he would place his money on the Dutch driver to win the title, citing his experience as a major factor. Villeneuve concluded by stating the Red Bull Racing team could use their second driver to Verstappen’s advantage in the final two races of the campaign.
