Verstappen looks ahead: "That's definitely the plan"

Max Verstappen can finally fight for the world title with Red Bull Racing this season. The Austrian team is currently four points ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the world championship, although there are still plenty of important races to come. The Dutchman is enjoying his time at Red Bull.

Verstappen seemed ready to take on Mercedes in recent years, but back then he had a car that didn't allow him to do so. However, Red Bull started the season strongly and proved too strong for Hamilton on a number of tracks. Verstappen is therefore positive about the future of the team.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Verstappen says that he expects to continue driving at Red Bull for a long time. "That's definitely the plan. I love being part of this team. Personally, I have a good relationship with everyone, we are very motivated and driven and of course, we want to win. Hopefully, we can do that for a long time to come."

In recent years there have been several rumours about a possible switch of Verstappen to Mercedes, but for now, the driver doesn't want to know anything about it. "It has to make sense of course, but at the moment I'm not looking for that. My full focus is on Formula 1."
