Oliver Bearman shared his thoughts on Max Verstappen’s decision to race at the Nordschleife outside of Formula 1 weekends.
"I think he's probably the best driver we've ever seen."
- Oliver Bearman
The young British driver hopes to one day follow the same path as Verstappen, he explained in Baku: “I hope I'm at the stage one day in my career where I can do like Max and just drive whatever he wants, purely for passion.
"Of course, I'm not at that stage yet, but it's so impressive to see what he's capable of and it really shows how talented he is as a driver. It's insane.
Bearman even went so far as to label the four-time world champion “the best driver we’ve ever seen,” expressing further admiration for his decision to race at the Nürburgring.
I think he's probably the best driver we've ever seen, and the fact that he's able to turn up at the Nordschleife—and I didn’t follow it properly, honestly, but I saw some articles and stuff—is just so cool.”

Verstappen claims first GT3 win in a Ferrari car

On Saturday, four-time Formula 1 world champion had an impressive debut race in GT3 racing at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, famously known as the 'Green Hell.'
Just two weeks earlier, he had obtained his DMSB Permit Nordschleife, that would also allow him to compete at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring event.
Starting his first qualifying session, Verstappen faced traffic on his final lap and ended up third on the grid, narrowly missing out on pole position by just three seconds.
However, as the race began, he immediately showcased his racecraft, seizing the lead at Turn 1 and maintaining a commanding pace throughout his two-hour stint, building a significant gap over his competitors.
After Verstappen completed his stint, teammate Chris Lulham took the wheel of the Ferrari 296 GT3 and managed the remainder of the race, ultimately securing the car’s first victory with Verstappen as part of the winning team.
