Verstappen is done with it: "It doesn't matter"

It's been the hottest topic since the winter tests; will Red Bull Racing be the favourites this season or will it be Mercedes again? Max Verstappen is fed up with all the predictions.

Done with predictions

"I've been saying this for a few weeks now: we'll see". Verstappen is by now getting tired of the questions whether he is the favourite for the world title this season. The Dutchman prefers not to make predictions. "It doesn't really matter. It's all about what you show on the track, everything else is secondary."
For those looking to place a bet on the winner of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix, the bookies say they have the best chance of going home with money by betting on Verstappen, but the Red Bull driver has little use for that either. "In any case, I don't think we will come last," he said.

Like Verstappen, Mercedes is also doing everything it can to avoid being assigned the role of favourite. About the reason the Dutchman is very clear. "Because it doesn't matter. What matters is that you perform at the moments that matter and when the points are distributed. I think that's why you just have to stay focused on your work and stay calm. Because this kind of stuff just distracts you."
