Sergio Perez has revealed a special helmet design for the Mexico City Grand Prix, paying tribute to his country's cultural heritage ahead of his home race. The Cadillac driver will make his tenth appearance at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, where he has previously celebrated two podium finishes in front of his home crowd.
Perez unveiled the helmet in a video shared on Instagram, showing a predominantly white design featuring intricate grey patterns inspired by traditional Mexican art. Geometric shapes and stylised figures cover much of the surface, while the Mexican flag appears across the top.
The Cadillac logo features prominently on the front, with the American manufacturer's Formula 1 team name displayed across the visor strip. Sponsors including KitKat, Nescafé, Banamex and TWG also appear on the helmet, which combines the team's branding with elements celebrating Perez's Mexican identity.
The 36-year-old has regularly introduced special helmet designs for his home Grand Prix, making this latest creation another tribute to his country as he prepares to race in Mexico for the first time as a Cadillac driver.

Perez's history at the Mexican Grand Prix

The 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix will mark Perez's tenth appearance at his home event. The Mexican competed in all nine editions held between 2015 and 2024, with the race absent from the calendar in 2020.
His best results came during his time at Red Bull, finishing third in both 2021 and 2022. His 2021 podium was particularly significant, as he became the first Mexican driver to finish on the podium at his home Grand Prix.
Perez has recorded six top-ten finishes and scored 47 points across his previous nine appearances. However, his final two home races with Red Bull proved considerably more difficult.
In 2023, he retired on the opening lap after making contact with Charles Leclerc at the first corner while attempting to take the lead. A year later, he finished 17th following another challenging weekend.

After missing the 2025 season, Perez now returns to his home circuit with Cadillac, which is competing in its debut Formula 1 campaign. The Mexican will also take part in a demonstration run along Mexico City's Paseo de la Reforma on Wednesday, 28 October, ahead of the Grand Prix weekend.
