Max Verstappen has entered a special list. The Dutchman is on a shared ninth place when it comes to the most different Grands Prix won. He shares this spot with none other than the 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen.
Verstappen in top ten
Verstappen is adding many victories to his record in 2021. Most of the Grands Prix that the Red Bull Racing driver wins, he wins for the first time. As a result, he has now won fifteen different Grands Prix in the first seven years of his career.
By winning fifteen different Grands Prix he is ahead of greats like Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and Jackie Stewart. With one more victory this year he can even equal Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell. This could happen in Qatar or Saudi Arabia. Verstappen has already won the other races in 2021.
Between the world champions
What is remarkable about Verstappen's place in the top ten is that he is the only driver without a world title in his pocket within the top ten. However, it will be some time before the Dutchman takes over the record. That record is now held by Lewis Hamilton. He won 28 different Grands Prix in his career.
