Red Bull and Honda have proved they can compete at the front of the grid over the last few races. They're clearly growing as a result of their new relationship with Honda. Yet Max Verstappen believes the Belgium Grand Prix might be a difficult race for himself and the team.
At the drivers press conference, Verstappen was asked whether Red Bull can continue their fine form at Spa. "I do not know. In general, it will be a bit more difficult for us here because of the long straights, but we were also competitive at Silverstone [also long straights]," Verstappen said.
“So we have to find a good balance with the car. Of course, sectors 1 and 3 will be almost flat-out here and sector 2 has many corners, so we have to make the right decisions regarding the set-up," says the Dutchman.
Verstappen will drive alongside a new teammate for the Belgium Grand Prix. Alex Albon replaced Pierre Gasly during the summer break. Verstappen briefly commented on his new teammate.
“Just like Pierre, I raced with him in 2010. He is a fast racer and as you can hear he is very excited, that's always good," Verstappen added.
