Former driver questions Red Bull chief: 'The biggest question this season'

Max Verstappen was anything but satisfied following winter testing in Bahrain. Actually, the reigning Formula 1 world champion stated he had expected more from the RB21. True, some of the woes present in Red Bull Racing's predecessor, RB20, had been fixed, but the Austrian team's car still struggled going over kerbs and bumps.
Red Bull Racing's technical leadership have not yet managed to fix all the issues from last season. Whether they will manage to do so during the season? Christijan Albers, former team boss and driver in F1, is very much looking forward to the development battle that lies ahead between McLaren and Red Bull. "The best battle is actually really with those teams," Albers said to Viaplay during a press briefing - which also included GPblog.

Can Waché deliver for Red Bull?

Albers cites that key people at the top of Red Bull have left and are now working elsewhere. "Rob Marshall who left for McLaren. Adrian Newey going to Aston Martin. So the question is, is [technical director] Pierre Waché going to cut it for Red Bull? And I think that's the most important question for this season," Albers believes.
McLaren against Red Bull Racing last season became a very interesting battle. That's why Giedo van der Garde, another former F1 driver, adds: "It's kind of nice to see this battle continue this year. The regulations have remained the same, of course. I think McLaren did take another step," Van der Garde said.
