Yuki Tsunoda went very hard into the wall during Q1 of qualifying for the Grand Prix of Imola. His Red Bull Racing car flipped upside down into the wall and eventually landed upright again. Fortunately, the Japanese driver emerged unharmed from the car and was soon facing the media, including GPBlog.
"It's really hard and a lot has changed in the setup. So to push so hard without really understanding the car... - It was just really unnecessary to push so hard," Tsunoda explained after coming out of the medical center. When asked by GPBlog what went through his mind after his crash, the Japanese driver said: "Initially, I felt mostly ashamed, disappointed, and frustrated."

Tsunoda has not yet spoken to Red Bull after his crash

Tsunoda also mentioned that he had not spoken to his team directly after qualifying. He stated: "I haven't spoken to them yet, but I can only apologize. The car obviously suffered significant damage, so the mechanics have a lot of work to do to get it ready for tomorrow. Hopefully, the car will be ready tomorrow, but it was all very unnecessary for the team."
