Verstappen reveals what made the difference in his Singapore GP triumph

Max Verstappen has celebrated a long-awaited victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, as he insisted he has a "lot of motivation" to deliver more results by the end of the season.
The Dutchman held off the challenge of Charles Leclerc to win his first Grand Prix in Singapore throughout his Formula 1 career.
“It’s taken a while, but the race was very good,” Verstappen said after the race. “We had pace when we needed to have it on the soft and medium tyre, even though the medium tyre was a bit more of a struggle. It worked out, so I’m happy to win here.”
Verstappen was also asked about his start, which he felt was good enough to help him get the job done as he just about held off the quick starting Leclerc. “You always try to do your best and it was just good enough,” he said.

The victory continues a positive run for Verstappen and Red Bull, with the Dutchman encouraged by the team’s recent performances and eager to build on them before the end of the season.
“The last two races have been good for us and it’s great to see,” he said. “We have a lot of motivation within the team to deliver even more results. It’s a good group of people. I enjoy working with them and hopefully we can have a bit more fun until the end of the year.”
The Singapore GP result leaves Verstappen fourth in the standings, just eight points behind Lewis Hamilton. The Ferrari driver, who had earlier expressed frustration with the lack of team orders during the Singapore GP, eventually slipped back after he decided not to make a second pit stop, finishing in sixth place behind Kimi Antonelli and the two McLarens.
