Yuki suffers major crash in early stages of Q1 at Imola!

The Japanese driver found himself in his very first push lap when everything went wrong at the exit of Turn 5 and into 6.

Coming off the kerbs the RB21's balance shifted as the aerodynamic load was lost, as the car became decompressed, spun around and launched Tsunoda into the wall on the outside of Turn 6.

The blow was massive as the RB21 hit the barriers and rolled over before rolling back and falling forcefully on the gravel.

The Japanese driver extricated himself from the car unaided. Since he did not set a lap he will have a "DNQ" next to his name.

Qualifying will be resumed in three minutes time at 16:20 local time, race direction has reported.
