Colapinto already on the backfoot with Briatore, heavy crash at Imola!

Coming out of the Tamburello chicane the Argentine pushed too much and bit the grass on the exit causing his Alpine 525 to spin and find the wall on the outside of Turn 4.

Colapinto apologised to the team on the radio and was able to get himself out of the car unaided.

Tough start to his F1 comeback as his qualifying run was already compromised with a slam-dunk penalty for exiting his garage onto the pitlane before race direction instructed the teams they were able to do so.

As radio communications between Alpine and Colapinto revealed, it was a misunderstanding by the Argentine talent.
