Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff insists his German team must get "every detail right" this weekend in Austria. Mercedes are ahead in both the constructors' championship and the drivers' championship.
The Silver Arrows were dominant around the Paul Ricard circuit a week ago. Hamilton comfortably won the race and now has a 14 point lead over closest rival Sebastian Vettel. Vettel hit Bottas at the start of the Grand Prix which ruined the Finn's race. Wolff believes he would be further up the results table.
"We know that we will once again get every detail right if we want a chance to win the race - and in Valtteri's case, in particular, he needs luck to go his way a little more than we have seen in recent races," Wolff told Formula1.com.
Wolff went on to admit the short lap in Austria makes it difficult in qualifying sessions. A lap of the Red Bullring can be completed in just over 1-minute making.
"The relatively short lap in Austria makes the circuit challenging as it closes up the field in qualifying and will make the margins even tighter."
The track will now feature three DRS zones, one more than last season. And this can only favour Mercedes and their dominant engine going into the race weekend.
Team members and drivers have commented in the week how much they like the Spielberg track. And Toto Wolff added his remarks.
"After Formula One returned to the track in 2014, it quickly became one of the favourite places of the entire F1 calendar."
