This is when Newey may start at Aston Martin
After a few months, it was announced that Newey had found a new challenge at Aston Martin's team. Exactly when the Briton was allowed to start at his new team remained unclear, but the team has confirmed to GPblog that Newey will be working for Aston Martin from 3 March.

The technical mastermind resigned from his duties around Red Bull Racing almost immediately. Initially, it seemed that Newey would not be allowed to be involved with another F1 team for years, but this soon proved not to be the case.
Newey's gardening leave, the period during which someone is not allowed to be involved with another Formula 1 team, turned out to be shorter than expected. As a result, he was allowed to start at Aston Martin just a few months after the start of 2025.
Newey was seen as one of the main people responsible for the design of Red Bull's car. The Brit won six constructors' titles and eight drivers' titles with the Austrian racing stable.
Throughout his F1 career, the technical mastermind has won no fewer than 12 constructors' titles and 14 drivers' titles. With Aston Martin, the Briton will be looking for more successes. Honda will become the engine supplier for the Silverstone-based team from 2026, with whom Newey worked with whilst at Red Bull since 2019.
