Aston Martin revealed earlier on Friday that the team had adhered to Pirelli's protocols when Lance Stroll's tyre burst in Baku. Team boss Otmar Szafnauer believes Formula 1 will have a 'serious and serious problem' if the tyres then fail.
Suggestions are now circulating that Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing were driving with tyre pressures that were not as high as Pirelli expected. However, Szafnauer disagrees, saying his team has always followed the guidelines set by the Italian tyre manufacturer.

Szafnauer does not understand the Pirelli conclusion

"It's a real and serious problem that we've got to get on top of," Szafnauer said, according to Motorsport.com. "I think we're lucky to only break the car and not anything else. So, we've got to make sure it doesn't happen again."
Szafnauer is therefore surprised by the conclusion Pirelli have drawn after studying the accident. "We followed all the prescriptions to the letter, and we were never ever under the minimum pressure."
