Starting grid suffers revamp as Red Bull 'breaks' major F1 rule

Max Verstappen and Red Bull could not do it again this time, as it was bound to happen at some point.

The Dutchman and the Austrian outfit are known for not hitting the ground running in FP1, but for working through their issues and eventually nailing the right set-up as the weekend progresses.

However the story did not repeat itself this weekend, with Verstappen being on the verge of elimination in both of the first two parts of qualifying. In then end he was able to nab a P8 starting grid position.

His teammate Yuki Tsunoda though, was not so 'lucky'. The Japanese driver could ony manage a P16 resullt as he was thus eliminated in Q1.

Now Red Bull has made the compromise to put a new engine in the back of Tsunoda's car, thus breaking parc fermé rules, and also exceeding the number of engine coments he can take during a season.

As such the Japanese Red Bull Racing driver will start the race from the pitlane.
