Sergey Sirotkin said he does not feel threatened by the presence of Robert Kubica as Williams test driver and the possibility of the Pole replacing him.
Sirotkin has had a difficult start to his F1 career and whilst the incredibly talented Kubica has not raced in F1 for almost eight years, there have been several calls for Kubica to replace the young Russian.
Kubica was considered one of the best drivers in the sport before his horrific rallying accident that almost ended his career in February 2011.
However, he has battled back against the odds and was on the verge of a race seat before Williams chose to go with Sirotkin.
When asked if he felt threatened by Kubica’s presence, Sirotkin said: “No, not at all. We all know what position he is in the team. I have a very good relationship with him, despite what many people may think.

“He’s a very nice guy, very open, very friendly.
“Many people may not expect me to say this, but I’m quite happy to have him in the team. It’s good to have a wide range of thoughts.”
