Brendon Hartley has struggled so far in his first full season of Formula One, but the New Zealander is not letting the rumours get to him as he focusses on the job of scoring points for his team.
Hartley has one point in seven races so far, scored in Azerbaijan. His quest for the top ten was not helped by Lance Stroll in Canada, being hit and taken out of the race by the Williams driver on the first lap.
There have been plenty of rumours surrounding Hartley’s future, with many reports suggesting he was destined for the Toro Rosso exit door midway through the season.
“I was asked a few questions about my future in Formula 1,” Hartley said in a vlog. “It was a bit annoying, but that’s part of the business and I actually felt really good about how I handled the situation, it didn’t really affect me.
“I just stayed focussed on the job I get paid to do. Every weekend I feel like I’m getting stronger and stronger.
