Perez balks: 'It was all too late'

Sergio Perez had terrible timing in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. Especially during the rain, that timing was so important, but the Red Bull Racing driver did not make it to Q3. It was the third time in a row that the Mexican was knocked our early on.
His teammate Max Verstappen took pole position. With him, though, everything went well and the timing was perfect each time during the changeable conditions. Perez sounds frustrated in front of Viaplay' s microphone: "It was all a bit too late," the Mexican started.

Frustrated Perez due to poor timing

"When we went on to the slicks track position was bit bad with the Alfa Romeo ahead. And then, yeah, we just couldn’t get through it. Once we put the temperature in the tyre it was all too late. Yes, we will try to definitely come through to the field and go for a good result."
Perez's good fortune is that he does find himself in the strongest race car on the 2023 grid. The RB19 is still the only car that has managed to win races in this year. Perez already did so twice himself, but there will be no third time in Canada.
