After the success of the 'F1: The Movie', will another one come out soon? Lewis Hamilton shared his thoughts about a possible sequel to GPblog among others. Since the premiere of the 'F1: The Movie' starring Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes and Damson Idris as Joshua Pierce, the film has grossed around $393.500.000 worldwide according to the Box Office Mojo of IMDb.
No sequel for now, Hamilton explains
"Well if I had I wouldn't be telling you right now, firstly. But no I saw someone talk about it, but it's like we literally just finished it. So I think the last thing we want right now is a sequel," Hamilton began reacting to the initial success of the movie he co-produced.
Why is there no rush on Hamilton's side? "It's been four years in the making, it was a lot of work, particularly for like Joe (Kosinski, the movie's director). It's time away from your family, it's time away from your kids and so, and also you just need this to just simmer for a while, like just enjoy it. I think the worst thing we probably could do is to rush into doing a sequel."
"Most sequels are way worse and so we don't need to rush it. I think if we do do a sequel, I would say let's really, really take our time in getting it even better."
The seven-time world champion is also clear about the next step for the film's crew.
"I think right now it's about, which I don't know if they've ever done before, but I've asked them to do like a debrief. So let's review what we did, what we could have done better. I don't know if they do that in the movie business but it's something obviously I've learned from here and so I'm going to try to apply that to future programmes that I do," he concluded.
