Sainz sees Ferrari 'forced' to intervene in the 'turmoil' surrounding Vasseur

On Thursday morning, news broke that Frederic Vasseur has signed a multi-year deal to stay on as team boss at Ferrari. Carlos Sainz responded to the news about his former team boss.
Over the past few months, Frederic Vasseur has been subject to a lot of noise surrounding his future at Ferrari. Following the departure of Christian Horner, there were even rumours of the Briton taking his place at Ferrari.
On Thursday morning, the Italian team put an end to these rumors by announcing Vasseur's contract extension, in a multi-year deal.
Sainz responds to Vasseur's contract extension at Ferrari
Carlos Sainz commented on the news at the Hungaroring, among others, to GPblog. The Spaniard was not aware of his former team boss's expiring contract. "I didn't even know if he needed a renewal or anything. I think from the outside it just looks like they want to cancel the noise.”

According to the former Ferrari driver, there are always many rumors about the team. "Like always, in Ferrari there's so much noiseand you almost need to announce that you're extending or staying for people not to create a rumour."
"It's always been the case like that over there. But yeah, I'm happy for Fred because I'm sure he will keep doing a good job", Sainz said.

It has been over a year since Sainz announced that he would join the Williams team. This season, the British team is at the front of the midfield with seventy points in fifth place in the constructors' championship.
