‘I would have gone to Ferrari even sooner.’

Williams Racing, also detailed that he bears no misgivings or anything against Hamilton. Sharing his thoughts in an interview via DAZN Espana, he stated:
"I don't have any misgivings or anything. If it had been him, I would have gone to Ferrari even sooner. I would have had my eye on Ferrari to enjoy the final years of my career.”
Sainz witnessed his stint at Scuderia Ferrari come to a subtle, abrupt end after the Italian team announced it had signed Hamilton ahead of the 2025 campaign. The four-time Grand Prix winner, despite recording relative success including race victories and multiple podium finishes, would eventually complete a switch to the Williams team.
Hamilton’s chapter at Ferrari has so far not unfolded in the manner many would have envisaged. The seven-time world champion continues his search for a maiden podium at the Marenello-based team.
Carlos Sainz opens door for Scuderia Ferrari return

Sainz also hinted at a possible reunion with Scuderia Ferrari in the future. The Spanish driver explained that he was pleased not to have slammed the door following his exit from the team.
Sainz stressed that he maintains a cordial relationship with the Italian outfit and will not rule out a potential return.
The former McLaren driver, however, concluded by emphasising how pleased he is with his current situation at Williams Racing.
