According to earlier reports by Corriere dell Sera and Corriere dello Sport, former team principal and CTO for the Scuderia, Mattia Binotto, now COO and CTO at Audi, has landed a major coup poaching stellar engine department talents Wolf Zimmerman and Lars Schmidt to the Hinwil-based team.
On top of that, it has been reported that the two sensible departures are being viewed as a "black hole" by the sporting administration of the Italian team.
Zimmerman's and Schmidt's exits may pose an even more profound blow to the Scuderia, since more personnel might follow them out the door.

'Ferrari's experiments might see them fight Mercedes' PU in 2026'

Nevertheless, according to reports by Motorsport's Italian branch, under the leadership of the head of the engine department, Enrico Gualtieri, and using revolutionary Digital Metal Laser Sintering technology (DMLS) which allows for the fusion of different metals such as aluminum, copper for instance, with other non-organic materials like ceramic, Ferrari may be have found the key to mitigate a reported reliability susceptibility in their 2026 PU, by increasing the cooling capabilities in the internal components.
The Scuderia, according to the rumours, are also in the process of finding a way to downsize the radiators in a bid to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of their 2026 car, project 678, the first Ferrari car to fall under Director of Chassis Loic Serra's leadership.
