Sainz annoyed: 'Gonna cause us a lot of problems this session'

Carlos Sainz could be partly satisfied after his free practice sessions on Friday afternoon. Where he finished sixth in the first practice session, he couldn't get any further than eighth position in the second free practice session. Sainz made a clear remark to Lewis Hamilton while driving his laps.
All drivers went out on track early in the second free practice session, so it was quite busy on the track. It was therefore not ideal for the drivers. Sainz was then troubled by Hamilton during practice, after which he told his team on the radio: "This Hamilton guy is going to give us a lot of problems this session." To that, his team replied: "Yes, that was indeed not ideal, noted."
However, the moment was not severe enough to give to the race committee. It will no doubt also have something to do with Sainz's lacklustre performance this season. The Ferrari driver came no further than eleventh place in Portugal last week, while his teammate Charles Leclerc finished sixth.

Good start for Hamilton

Hamilton was satisfied after the first two free practices. The seven times world champion finished third and first and left his big rival Max Verstappen far behind during the second free practice.
