Alpine CEO Rossi: 'I am proud of them and they should be proud too'

Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi was critical of his team recently, but can be satisfied with his formation's performance after the Monaco Grand Prix. At Miami, the race before Monaco, Rossi warned he would make changes before the end of the season if performance did not improve, saying the responsibility lay with team boss Otmar Szafnauer.
"I’m not going to say I want them to finish P3 every race, that would be unrealistic - I would love that, but we still have a lot of work to do to get there. That was solid, like in Miami. All I need is them to reproduce that," Rossi said in an interview with Reuters.

Rossi satisfied with Alpine and Ocon

Rossi seems a lot more satisfied after two solid performances in both the Miami and Monaco Grand Prix. Partly due to Esteban Ocon's podium finish, Alpine is now fifth in the constructors' championship.
"They also exhibited a very good mindset in the past two races, so whether it worked or not, they are doing what was missing so I’m happy. The performance of the car, like I said back then, will take time. It needs regular updates, upgrades on the car, we will do it. Operational excellence, they did it and I’m glad."
