Ross Brawn expects Vietnam GP to go ahead but "no guarantee" after China postponed

Ross Brawn says that he cannot guarantee that the Vietnam Grand Prix will go ahead as it stands, but there is no guarantee the coronavirus outbreak will get worse. The Chinese Grand Prix was postponed as expected on Wednesday, with fears of the virus too great in China.

The 2020 Vietnam Grand Prix will be the first in the country, set to be held in the capital, Hanoi.

However, the outbreak of the virus in Vietnam's neighbour China has put the race into doubt, with fears that F1 visiting the country could only spread the virus around the world further.

Brawn told Reuters: "Regarding Vietnam, all the feedback we receive is comparable to the UK. There are some cases, but not at a level that worries. The advice we get is that it can continue as normal."

That is the story for now, but Brawn admits that it may not be the case in a few weeks' time, adding: "Nobody knows what it's like in a week or two, so it's hard to say what the situation will be like in four weeks.
