Rosberg sees dilemma for Mercedes: "They don't know what to do yet"

The decision regarding Mercedes' second seat is due to be made sometime this summer, and many believe it has already been decided. However, former Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg believes that the team is still undecided on whether to go for George Russell or Valtteri Bottas.
Both drivers' contracts expire after this season, and given Russell's strong performance, he will have no trouble finding a better seat than his current one at Williams. However, that could mean Mercedes forfeiting the chance to keep the young talent for the future.

Rosberg thinks Mercedes are yet to decide

Bottas, on the other hand, may not be making as much of an impression on the track but is doing exactly what his team expects of him as the second driver. "It's a tricky one because Bottas is doing well and basically deserves to stay," Rosberg said in conversation with Express Sport.
"At the same time, Russell is a rising star who is performing incredibly well in a car that shouldn't be in Q3 all the time," he continued. "So he actually deserves the Mercedes seat as well. It's a difficult decision and I don't think they know what they're going to do yet," said the 2016 world champion.
