Right behind Verstappen, Racing Bulls drivers were left wanting more

Behind Max Verstappen, the two Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar completed the Top 10. Despite making it through to Q3, neither driver was satisfied.
At the Hungaroring talking to the Dutch press, Max Verstappen said: "I have been outside the top ten more than in the top ten this whole weekend. So in that regard, it is of course positive. But for us, that is just not good."
Finishing right behind the Dutchman and completing the fifth row on the grid, Lawson and Hadjar were not happy with their positions.
The New Zealander finished in P9 with a lap less than a tenth slower than his ex-teammate's. He was 'reasonably' pleased, but expected more before things "just fell away" in Q3.
Answering GPblog's question, he said: "Honestly it (finishing right behind Verstappen, ed.) doesn't make a difference. The fact is we had more potential in the car today to be where we are in P9, and we didn't extract that and that's what honestly we'll be looking into."

Lawson doesn't believe he will fight against the defending world champion tomorrow either. "I think we won't have the pace for Max probably, but to try and target exactly the Sauber in front of us and the Astons. I think the Astons are very, very fast. Their qualifying pace has been very good and I think that'll translate into the race as well."
"I think maybe that’s going to be tricky for us, especially they have two of them but we also have two of us. So we'll do the best we can."

Hadjar more disappointed

A dispirited Isack Hadjar arrived to the media pen after the Frenchman finished tenth in qualifying.

He remains the only driver on the grid heading into the summer break that is yet to be eliminated in Q1 in his career.
"Yes, definitely slipped away. It was a very poor lap. Yes, a big mistake and it cost me in a lot better result," he also talked to GPblog among others. "Making it to Q3 is good, but then once you're in Q3, you need to do something with it. I didn't."
Looking ahead, he believes he needs a good start and strategy to gain positions on Sunday.
