Daniel Ricciardo has dismissed reports that he wants the number 1 status at his current team Red Bull.
Ricciardo's contract negotiations have been prolonged and with that speculation has risen about the Australian wanting to be the main guy at Red Bull.
However, Ricciardo has strongly denied the speculation and has thrown more rumours in the air by saying, 'not every door is closed', in regards to his own future.
The Red Bull driver feels than a run of 'disruption or bad luck' in recent races has distracted him from the contract negotiations.
Ricciardo insists that he isn't seeking to be number one in Red Bull's ranks.
"Not that I don't want that (number 1 status) but I don't need that, it's all right," Ricciardo said to Crash.net.
"Obviously Max (Verstappen) is driving well but I genuinely think there have been things every weekend since Monaco which have just been a bit of a disruption or a bit of bad luck.
"Like the front wing and all that with Paul Ricard. Just p***es me off."
Ricciardo is still expected to renew his deal with Red Bull, with other options seemingly disappearing.
Mercedes and Ferrari were reportedly interested in the Australian's contract situation, but interest has seemed to cool down.
"Not every door is closed," Ricciardo claimed.
"But it's looking more and more likely that the other top teams will probably remain with their line-ups."
