'Chinese brand is interested in taking a step into MotoGP in the future'

CFMoto has already been present in the paddock for some time. In 2022, the manufacturer became a constructor in Moto3, collaborating with Prüstel GP.

Entering the 2024 campaign, they joined forces with the Aspar team, competing in both Moto2 and Moto3. In the latter category, David Alonso claimed the world title in dominant fashion.

This season, Alonso and Daniel Holgado compete for the team in Moto2, with both riders already confirmed to move up to MotoGP next year. Alonso has signed with Honda, while the Spaniard is set to join Gresini Racing.

Speaking to Speedweek, Martinez said that CFMoto is looking to enter MotoGP at some point as well.

According to the Spaniard, MotoGP would also be happy to add the Chinese manufacturer to its list of brands. He added: "I can't give a clear timetable here, maybe it's three or five years. I can confirm that the common vision is MotoGP. You also have to understand – it's not just my interest or that of CFMoto – that MotoGP also has an enormous interest in attracting a large company from China."

CFMoto has long been linked with a future MotoGP entry. It was previously rumored that the Chinese manufacturer could take over KTM's MotoGP project, while this year reports suggested it is interested in becoming a customer team of the Austrian brand from the 2027 season.
