After disappointing performances from Alexander Albon, his future at Red Bull Racing is becoming more and more unclear. Helmut Marko has hinted at a possible switch in which of course Albon will pay the price. However, no one in the Red Bull Junior Programme is expected to be ready for the step up.

Red Bull talent pool is dry

It is what Red Bull Racing, and Helmut Marko in particular, are known for, the team's junior program is a stand out in Formula 1. Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, among others, came out of it.
However, for the first time in ages, the program is failing. Helmut Marko has alluded to a new driver at the expense of Albon, but there is no one ready in the talent group. Should Red Bull try and attract an experienced driver?

Red Bull not familiar with 'ready-made' drivers

“We haven't had to buy ready-made stars before,” said Dr Marko opposite Sport1.de. “Instead, we have always prepared our drivers for a top team with our junior team."
Marko hints at a change within the ranks: "So far we have always been able to get drivers out of our talent group. At the moment, however, no one is ready for the step. Maybe we should follow the path of many other teams and rely on tried and tested forces."
