Prema Racing has their latest driver for their Formula 3 campaign, bringing in Renault academy driver, Oscar Piastri for the upcoming season.
Piastri was born in 2001 and won the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2019 and in the process secured a place in Renault's driver academy. The Australian tested for the Prema team at the back end of 2019 and he has been rewarded for his displays with a seat for the Formula 3 season.
Piastri will partner Frederik Vesti and Logan Sargeant at Prema next season. The Formula 3 season kicks off in Bahrain before concluding at the Sochi Autodrom.
"I am really excited to join the Renault Sport Academy for 2020 and I am looking forward to starting this new season with Prema in Formula 3. I am also looking forward to learning from the other Academy members," said Piastri as quoted by Motorsport.com.
"It was hard to get to this point in my career, winning the Formula Renault Eurocup last year, but it was worth it and I am extremely proud to be part of this illustrious team."
