Esteban Ocon does not participate in qualifying in Miami. His Alpine team fails to repair his badly damaged car.
Substantial blow
Ocon hit the wall quite hard at the beginning of practice. This hit the chassis in such a way that it had to be replaced. As a result, the Frenchman can not participate in the session. He will probably start from the pits on Sunday.
After the blow, Ocon was taken to the medical center as a precaution. After a check he appeared ok to race, but he can therefore only do so again on Sunday. That is what his team Alpine reports. Ocon went to Twitter to say he is okay. "That was a big one but I am ok. A cracked chassis means I won’t be able to take part in Quali today. Absolutely gutted but full send for tomorrow. Allez Alpine."
