Similarly to Max Verstappen, Lando Norris was not a fan of Netflix's Drive to Survive's approach. As in previous years, in order to fit their narrative, the series was loose on facts, which was pointed out by many. The Briton now belongs in that group as well.
After Drive to Survive's latest season was premiered before the Australian Grand Prix, many questioned the portrayal of Max Verstappen in the episode called 'Frenemies'. Eagle eyed fans could also spot that in one of scenes, footage from the Dutch Grand Prix was used thanks to the Pirelli cap drivers wear on the podium. Afterward, in a live stream, Verstappen also explained that he did not know he was sad, and that he had a great night in Miami afterwards.

Norris wants facts, not lies

Norris also defended the Dutchman and got involved in the discussion about the series. The McLaren driver began with saying he is "not a fan of the fake stuff".
"They need to show the truth about people more. I'm not a fan of fake stuff. I want facts. I don't want made-up scripts and fabricated nonsense, which there is," he continued to British media.

He also questions how the published version came across. "The portrayal of Max, and how we were against each other so much, they don't need to create that drama, just show the facts. It is almost lying in some ways, and I just don't think that's correct. They just jumble up the whole thing and they don't care when they put it in."
Norris therefore has a suggestion for the creators. "Maybe it needs to be more of a documentary of the season, more than a show like they're trying to do. It has drifted too far away [from the truth]," the McLaren driver concluded.
