Lando Norris is 16 points behind his teammate, Oscar Piastri. He lost to his teammate again in Miami due to a first-lap error with Max Verstappen, which Windsor says is due to his thinking the wrong way.
Norris dropped down to sixth in the first lap of the Miami Grand Prix after going off the track in a first-lap fight against Verstappen.
On his YouTube channel, Windsor said, "This is a problem with modern Formula One. I think the minute it happened and Max sort of came across on him, Lando thought, 'He's gonna get a penalty now'."

Norris needs to be smarter in battles with Verstappen

He continued, "That was his main thing, the penalty thing and the reality is he shouldn't have been thinking that way at all. He should have been thinking, don't worry about the penalty, it may happen, it may not."
"This is in a trilisecond; he should have been thinking this. 'I'll filter him behind Max now. There's no way to get him on the outside here, so it's easy to pass him three laps into the race with DRS. That's what he should have been thinking: to win the race. "

He continued, "But he didn't. He thought I should have, I should have been leading this Grand Prix. He's had me off. He should get a penalty. And it was wrong. It was the wrong approach."
Windsor then dived deeper into why Norris made these mistakes.
He said, "That was because of the pressure he's got in having to beat Oscar. So that's where the pressure shows. It's not only just pace, it's things like that, not thinking clearly."
The next race is set to take place in Italy this weekend. Verstappen has won the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix for the past few years. Can Norris finally beat Verstappen at this track and gain on Piastri?
